European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Associate Director of Gender & Access to Services, Dr Sunita Pitamber, spoke at the COP27 event Gender Equality and Climate Finance in the Mediterranean Region.
"Integrating gender into climate finance and policymaking is a must, not a good to have," said EBRD.
Increasing women's access to training, green jobs and green skills
"If I were to talk about increasing women’s access to training, technical training, green jobs, green skills, we are already aligned to that, and we have been working on that for quite a long time," shared Dr Sunita Pitamber.
An experienced policy advisor
Dr Sunita Pitamber is an experienced policy advisor with proven skills in project management, strategy design and implementation, SDGs results delivery and monitoring. Dr Sunita Pitamber has extensive MDBs experience covering Africa, Central Asia, Central Europe, and the Balkans.
Flagships led and supported include Inclusive and Socially Responsible Procurement, Gender and Climate Action Fast Track Initiative, Green Cities, gender responsive green financing facilities, and CSOs as partners for development.
Dr Sunita Pitamber is also experienced in partnership development, focused on gender and inclusive strategic outcomes for both private and public sector. She has proven experience in fragile states, support to peace and security through rule of law institutions, and post-conflict rehabilitation and reconstruction at country level and regionally, for example The Sahel, The Lake Chad Region, The Horn of Africa, The Mano River Union, and the Great Lakes.
Dr Sunita Pitamber has specific experience in institutional development and change management. She has successfully led complex programs with multi-disciplinary teams at the national, regional and continental level. Dr Sunita Pitamber holds a Ph.D. in Development Economics from the University of Bremen, Germany. She also holds an MBA from Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana.
