Barbara Rambousek is the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Director for Gender & Economic Inclusion.
She established the Bank’s approach to integrating economic inclusion and human capital development into the Bank’s mandate, to address inequality challenges through private sector investments and policy engagement – leading to over 10 billion euros in inclusive investments across the EBRD region to date.
Barbara spoke with Review Uz News about the opportunity women present to an economy, and what the EBRD is doing to promote gender equality in Uzbekistan.
"Women are the world's largest emerging market, and the opportunity this presents is reflected in the business case. Overcoming perceptions, stereotypes and very often deeply entrenched social norms is the key challenge," explained Barbara.
