Kate Crossan's work at Siemens Healthineers makes an impact

Kate Crossan is a Technical Operations Scientist at Siemens Healthineers Llanberis facility. 

Kate’s main duties are to troubleshoot short term quality issues before a product is released to the field, assist with mentoring scientists, and providing technical input relating to Siemens Healthineers products to other departments. 

The most rewarding part of Kate’s job is knowing that she has resolved an issue that has led to the release of a product, which she knows will subsequently be used to provide medical assistance to someone. Having such impact, can prove very motivating.

“The great potential career development prospects attracted me to the job role,” says Kate. 

There is no typical day for Kate as it is quite varied, and the work depends on what is needed. "I could be reviewing data from assays generated/products referred, providing support for risk assessments, mentoring scientists or brainstorming with cross-functional team on complex technical issues,” she explains.

One of the greatest challenges for Kate is ensuring that issues are resolved in a timely manner and to a high standard, to guarantee there is no disruption to supply and delivery of a quality product to customers.
