Aimée Gibson is a rising star at Diageo

Diageo blender Aimée Gibson, has been awarded the International Spirits Challenge Rising Star Award, which recognises up and coming talent in the industry.

Whisky specialist Aimée is one of the newer members of the blending team and brings exceptional analytical skills and a real focused attention to detail to the intricacies of whisky blending and flavour. Aimée works alongside Johnnie Walker Master Blender Jim Beveridge, specialising in innovation.

Diageo is internationally respected

Diageo was awarded four trophies overall at the prestigious awards ceremony which is one of the most authoritative, respected and influential spirits competitions in the world. The competition is founded on a rigorous and independent judging process and receives more than 1,300 entries from nearly 70 countries worldwide.

A new generation of blenders

Jim Beveridge, Johnnie Walker Master Blender said: “There is an important new generation of blenders coming through Diageo, and Aimée represents all of the skills coming through that team. Aimée was spotted during a launch for John Walker & Sons Private Collection 2017 Edition were she performed remarkably well and she has also been instrumental in shaping Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch. It’s great to see Aimée receive this recognition!”
