A typical day for Alyse may include planning and leading a meeting, updating project schedules and budget forecasts, and reviewing and approving documentation. Her day might also include a meeting with a supplier regarding opportunities to increase yields, speaking with a physician during a visit to Medtronic, or riding along with a sales representative to meet physicians and patients to gain insights on product use and procedures as well as discuss product enhancement opportunities.

She says: “During a typical day I have conversations with everyone from engineers to senior management, as well as team members from across the globe ranging from Western Europe to Latin America to Japan answering questions and collaborating on innovative products.”

Alyse enjoys the collaborative, innovative culture at Medtronic and individuals that she works with in Neuromodulation.

“I appreciate the diversity of thought on my teams as well as belief in the mission that resonates with every employee, ensuring the highest quality products are designed, tested and sold in the marketplace,” she adds. “I also enjoy working at Medtronic because of the company's support of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) careers. From partnering with local high schools and universities to offer internships to holding an annual innovation week with a poster session, technology village and family night, Medtronic is nurturing the current and next generation of engineers and scientists.”

A rewarding job

Alyse’s job is extremely rewarding because her teams create devices that assist in restoring health, alleviating pain and extending life in patients around the world.

She says: “I also appreciate the opportunity to continue to learn and develop with education through Medtronic University, mentoring and on-the-job experiences. My Medtronic travels have taken me across the world to attend conferences, partner with physicians and work with colleagues in Medtronic's European Operations Center and the Bakken Research Center in the Netherlands.”
