HCL launches Nordics chapter of its Women Lead program

 February 18, 2020

 Read time

The Women Lead Initiative is a flagship program designed to promote senior women executives in leadership roles, through formal one-to-one mentorship.

Powered by HCL Technologies, the program was pioneered in 2015 to unite a power cohort of successful and influential executive leaders and high potential senior female executives from leading firms across the corporate landscape.

Having started in Australia as a response to the lack of women leaders in the country's major companies, HCL is set to launch maiden chapters for the program in Sweden and the US because, when the company looks at the global business landscape, it believes there's still room at the top for more women.

Who can be a Mentor?

To create an impact on the issue of gender diversity in the corporate milieu of the Nordics, HCL is seeking the support and participation of established leaders and C-level executives in the upper realms of Nordics’ leading corporations.

So that, as mentors, they can share their insights and experiences with aspiring women candidates and help them shape their aspirations and strategies, and can successfully climb the corporate ladder.

Why should you apply?

Apart from allowing mentors an opportunity to develop their coaching skills, this initiative makes them a part of an elite circle of industry leaders, who together are likely to bridge the balance for the better.

Additionally, apart from exposing them to young talent, it gives them the opportunity to work alongside and interact with a highly-reputed industry leader - the Executive Coach.

The experience

Each mentor-mentee pair will focus on an issue or project proposed by the mentee in her application. Upon discussing, a project that represents a significant and meaningful part of the mentee’s professional development is ascertained and a game-plan is devised to achieve the same.

Duration of the program

The program has been designed keeping in mind the time limitations of senior leaders. Apart from a launch event, graduation gala dinner and one 90-minute meeting, each mentor-mentee pair is required to meet for one hour, at least five times over the 18-week duration of the project. The meetings will be scheduled at mutually convenient times.
