Arcadis is driven by a passion and a desire to forge progress. The company delivers better housing, revolutionizes transport systems, creates iconic spaces, finds new solutions to complex environmental challenges. Arcadis improves the quality of life.
With this agenda in mind, the company's Birmingham office welcomed students from Weston Road Academy at the start of their careers, helping them to make informed choices which can have a lasting impact on their futures. The Academy's motto is 'Aspiring and Believing to Achieve the Extraordinary.'
The collaboration was supported by Career Ready UK that connects young, undiscovered talent with employers across the UK.
"It was a fantastic visit with students hearing from apprentices and project teams about the wide range of opportunities at Arcadis and the many different routes in to their business," commented Career Ready, a national social mobility charity.
Offering opportunity to young people
Careers Ready is at the heart of a network of employers and educators who all believe that every young person, regardless of background, deserves the opportunity to kickstart a rewarding future. The charity was founded in 2002 by leading business figures with a mission: to boost social mobility by empowering young people and giving their talents a platform to flourish. Since then the charity has grown across the UK, working from Essex to Elgin, and has reached 200,000 young people including supporting 30,000 students on its high-impact, Career Ready post-16 programme.
Over the last 20 years Career Ready has built up a network of 1,000 employer supporters and 3,500 volunteers annually who deliver a range of high-quality, careers focused programmes in 400 schools and colleges.
