Paving the way for women in finance

EBRD Anne Fossamelle Top 10 Women of Influence in Private Markets

The Women of Influence: Private Equity award spotlights women whose achievements, innovation and leadership are reshaping private markets across a broad range of asset classes. It celebrates trailblazing women in alternative assets and their achievements in all forms, considering these achievements alongside their wider work and impact in the industry.

The achievements recognized in the list include women who have received a promotion, started a mentoring programme, played an instrumental role in an innovative or significant deal, implemented an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policy, led their funds investment activity in a new sector or region, taken identifiable steps to facilitate gender diversity and inclusion in their firm, founded a new firm, or helped their organization successfully navigate through the pandemic.

Private Equity International Media's Editorial team decide the Top Women of Influence in Private Markets list based on:

  • the nominee's achievements over the past year in their careers, their firm, or the private funds industry
  • evidence of innovation or game-changing actions, such as closing an innovative deal or launching diversity and inclusion (D&I) initiatives
  • evidence of leadership, impact, or influence on others within the industry and beyond

Recognizing Women of Influence

Private Equity International is a global publication with a primary focus on the relationship between investors and fund managers in private equity, the LP-GP nexus. It covers the people, the funds, the capital providers and the financial trends shaping the industry, with an integrated team of specialist journalists and researchers.

The publication covers investor allocation strategies into all segments of private equity and has conversations with the general partners, limited partners, advisors, lawyers, regulators and financiers who determine how capital flows into and out of the class. This is then used to create a carefully judged blend of digital news, commentary and analysis of all the key trends and events that shape private equity, as well as a proprietary database of funds, fund managers and investors.

Its industry awards are determined annually by way of a unique reader poll and aims to recognize the contributions of key-decision makers to the development of the asset class.
