Balancing work with outside interests is key, yet not everyone can attest to such a combination.

Emma Etheredge is a second year Business Graduate with Siemens Healthineers. Due to her strong passion for cross country running, Emma is a member of St Mary's Richmond Athletics Club, coached by John Greig, and also runs for Guernsey, having grown up in the Channel Islands.

In one of her latest running escapades, Emma's Team Guernsey won gold at the County Cross Country Championships. This success, says Emma, was supported by Siemens Healthineers flexible working approach, enabling her to combine her work with her outside interests.

Celebrating her wins big and small

Discussing her running achievement, Emma said: "We’re all busy, and it’s easy to swiftly move on with the work and training week, but one of my New Year’s resolutions is to try and be more reflective, celebrating each win - big or small."

Flexible working opportunities

Emma explains that she is lucky to work predominately from her home office, which saves time by cutting out unnecessary commutes.

"This means I can jog across the road to Bushy Park for some scenic miles each day. Siemens Healthineers attitude towards flexible working allows me to get training in at lunch or move my day around to fit in double days if needed."

Forging a healthy work/life balance

"All of these women work full time and maintain a hugely time-consuming hobby. I think that’s something to be proud of, and I’m so glad to be a part of it."

A thriving career

Emma is an International Business Management Graduate with a track record of academic merit and a conscientious personality.

She has experience in commercialising and implementing MedTech, specifically minimally invasive surgical robotics, with a background in sales and financial services. She hopes to join Siemens Healthineers on a permanent contract following the conclusion of her time on the Business Graduate scheme.

Empowering individuals to thrive

At Siemens Healthineers various flexible working models are offered to accommodate the various situations presented in life.

The people at Siemens Healthineers make the company unique as an employer in the medtech industry. The company wants to support and empower each and every individual to thrive; the effect of this is evident in the lengthy tenure of many employees.
