Working for a sustainability focused employer can prove very rewarding.
Did you know that Colt Technology Services partners with The Arctic Arts Project to promote action around climate change and make real impact across the business?
What began as raising awareness of climate change, has grown into a rallying point for individual action, collective responsibility and a deeper understanding of what’s at stake.
"At its core, this partnership is about connection: connecting people to the realities of the climate crisis through powerful visual storytelling, and connecting sustainability to everyday decisions, whether at home or at work. We know we can’t tackle climate change alone. That’s why we’re using our voice and this partnership to inspire action beyond our own business. Because when it comes to protecting our planet, collaboration is not optional," says Colt.
"Our Colties have embraced the partnership with energy and intent. In response, we launched an internal sustainability pledge campaign, encouraging our people to commit to personal actions to support the planet better. From reducing waste and choosing greener travel to sharing knowledge within their communities, our teams across the globe have made hundreds of pledges, proving that small steps, taken together, can lead to big changes," adds Colt.
Pledging to support sustainability
Through its partnership with The Arctic Arts Project, Colt helps spotlight the urgent need for climate action and the incredible impact of individual choices. The collaboration is about driving real change, starting with the small steps that employees can take every day to reduce their environmental footprint.
Leading the charge, World Environment Day saw Colt women around the globe step up and make personal pledges to live more sustainably in their day-to-day lives.
"I pledge to reduce the use of plastic at home and minimise the wastage of water," said one Colt employee in India.
"I pledge to support sustainability by making a conscious effort to buy energy-efficient electronic products and advocating the same to everyone around," added one of her colleagues.
"We installed solar panels at home, use recycled materials to do crafts with kids, and collect rubbish from beaches and other green areas," explained Sandra Santoro from Colt's Spanish team.
In Romania, one woman said: "This is one of the trees I planted this year. My pledge for next year is to take care of all of them."
"I pledge to reduce my electricity consumption and turn off devices when not in use," said her fellow employee.
"I pledge to use the bus as my main means of transport," added another eco-conscious Coltie.
"My climate pledge is to participate in my local park's community clean up on a monthly basis here in London. We can all do more to take better care of the environment that we get to enjoy," shared a Colt employee in the UK.
"I'm going to commit to buying pre-loved electronics so rather than buying a brand new phone, tablet, or gaming console, buy pre-loved, extended the life of the devices already on the market, and hopefully prevent some waste going to land fill," explained her colleague.
Working to be part of the solution
This partnership with The Arctic Arts Project sees Colt, as a ‘Polar Partner’, drive action in addressing climate change through collaboration, awareness, education and trust.
As Colt and The Arctic Arts Project join forces to affect change, the organisations will bring inspiring and insightful programmes and initiatives to Colt’s employees, customers and partners which will share Colt’s commitment to a sustainable by design tech industry, and The Arctic Arts Project’s captivating content and deep knowledge of the reality of climate change. Colt is already supporting an Arctic Arts Project expedition to Svalbard Archipelago in the Arctic, where Arctic Arts will continue working on a groundbreaking documentary film.
Commenting on the partnership, Colt CEO Keri Gilder said: “The World Economic Forum has stated in its 2024 global risk report that within the next ten years, four of the top five risks facing the world will be climate-related , so discovering and sharing the truth around the real threat of climate change is critical. The Arctic Arts Project tracks this change first-hand from areas like Svalbard – a tiny archipelago North of Norway which is warming seven times faster than the rest of the Earth – and shares this profound knowledge with stunning, hard-hitting and incredibly powerful visual storytelling. Partnering with this amazing organisation gives us the opportunity to discover and understand much more about the difference we can make as individuals; the influence we have as a global technology business; and the opportunity we have as an industry. There has never been a greater need for the industry to come together to drive positive change, and at Colt, we’re determined to be part of the solution”.
