QBE European Operations promotes an inclusive workplace where employees can live and work authentically.
As part of its celebration of International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia & Transphobia (IDAHoBiT), QBE Europe shared the experience of Lisa Hilton.
Lisa is a proud LGBTQI+ community member, mum and Head of Technology at QBE Australia Pacific. For her, QBE is "by far" the most inclusive workplace she's ever worked in.
"I'm supported and I've able to bring my whole self to work," she said.
Observed every year on May 17th, IDAHoBiT aims to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ rights violations, end discrimination and coordinate international events across the world.
Supporting LGBT+ colleagues through QBE Pride

Supporting LGBTIQ+ employees is key at QBE European Operations.
LGBTIQ+ pride network QBE Pride exists to promote and support an open and inclusive workplace culture where diversity is acknowledged, respected and celebrated.
QBE Pride draws on the unique backgrounds and experiences of LGBTIQ+ employees and allies to build an inclusive workplace, and to give everyone the confidence to bring their whole selves to work.
From organizing annual Pride events to writing QBE's Gender Affirmation and Transition guidelines, to jumping up the rankings in Stonewall's Workplace Equality Index, QBE Pride keeps itself busy, with plenty more to do.
A vision for workplace equality and inclusion
QBE Pride's Vision is for:
- QBE Europe to be recognised as a business where all employees are respected and valued, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity
- All colleagues to be informed and confident operating within an open inclusive workplace
- QBE Europe to be an employer of choice for LGBT+ people
