 June 23, 2017

Professor Elena Rodriguez-Falcon is a Professor of Enterprise and Engineering Education at The University of Sheffield. A Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Elena has won a number of national awards for her innovative teaching in engineering and enterprise.

Wanting to help a friend overcome disabilities following a car accident, Elena wanted to use her engineering skills to innovate and create a mobility aid via her capabilities in the field.

An Inspiring educator in engineering

Since moving to the UK, Elena has enjoyed working with students at The University of Sheffield on exciting projects to help improve the lives of others like her friend back home.

Educating and helping students research their own inspiring and impressive engineering projects, Elena feels that being able to receive and also give great feedback on these is key to developing the best solutions.

Playing a big part in establishing The University of Sheffield Enterprise (USE) facility, the Professor is encouraging students and academics alike to work on their enterprise skills so that they can research, design and ultimately set up their own successful businesses in the engineering world.

Working hard to enable her students to go onto be great engineers is what drives Elena to be so passionate in her career.
