 October 04, 2018

Looking to pursue a career in supply chain at a leading global company? Well, Schneider Electric has been awarded position number five in Gartner’s Supply Chain Top 15 for Europe.

"Our Global Supply Chain moved up 2 places to number five on Gartner’s Supply Chain Top 15 for Europe in 2018, and the fourth year running in the top 10. Congratulations to our GSC team for not only making the top 15 in Europe but also the top 25 in the world for 2018! We are proud to have come this far through our digital transformation in our supply chain operations and continue to accelerate our progress towards a Tailored Sustainable Connected 4.0 supply chain," announced Schneider Electric.

Schneider creates a culture of excellence

Gartner is the world’s leading research and advisory company that provides business leaders with insights, advice and tools to build successful organisations through research. Gartner's research into Supply Chain reveals that the top trends that emerged across leading European supply chains were digital experimentation, speed to adaptability and a focus on sustainability.

"The bedrock of these successful trends are core foundational themes - common to all leading supply chain organizations - that have created a culture of excellence and relentless drive to continuously improve," said  Stan Aronow, research vice president at Gartner. These common themes include global scale, local responsiveness, multiple models through segmentation, collaboration, investors in talent and technology, and culture of excellence and masters of change.

Schneider Electric puts customers and sustainable practices first

When Schneider Electric shares their sustainable development vision with suppliers, they place customers at the center of this message. Schneider Electric’s tailored supply chain is mindful of the diverse practices, standards, and values of the 100+ countries in which they present.

Schneider Electric works with sectors that account for the majority of global energy consumption and its corresponding CO2. Therefore, they are especially committed to making sure their own products and solutions help reduce both energy use and CO2 emissions - from design to manufacturing to shipping and deployment to products’ end-of-life.

A year of digital transformation for Schneider

"We are very pleased with breaking into the top 5 on Gartner’s Europe list. This last year has been one of intensified digital transformation for us, especially accelerated with our Smart Factory deployments in Europe (and elsewhere) as part of our Tailored Sustainable Connected 4.0 supply chain journey. This award is entirely due to the tireless efforts of our Global Supply Chain employees, and their individual contribution to delivering customer, quality and supply chain excellence", said Mourad Tamoud, executive VP, Global Supply Chain Operations, Schneider Electric.

“With the deployment of Schneider’s own EcoStruxure solutions in our sites, we have demonstrated our internal successes in digitization initiatives to customers. We will continue implementations worldwide to achieve impactful outcomes in our own supply chain operational efficiencies to deliver excellent performance and to support business growth for the Group. We will continue to execute with speed and innovation to bring value to our customers in this digitized industrial world."
