Workplace inclusion initiatives support Arcadis employees

Arcadis UK is striving to make its workplace more inclusive and just one example is the provision of toilets that cater for all genders and disabilities.

The initiative is part of a wider understanding at Arcadis that a diverse, inclusive workplace drives true innovation and leadership. Embracing different viewpoints and experiences is a principle Arcadis puts to work across the board, finding and supporting talented people, no matter where they come from or who they are, to achieve their very best from the moment they join Arcadis and throughout their career at the company.

Celebrating the achievements of women at Arcadis

Women at Arcadis is an initiative dedicated to celebrating the achievements and experiences of women in the company. At Arcadis, every woman's contribution is valued and recognized and their active participation in projects is encouraged.

Driving diversity in engineering through university scholarships

Another great way that Arcadis supports women's career success is through the Arcadis Women in Engineering scholarship in partnership with the University of NSW in Australia. The scholarship provides financial support to a woman as she completes her engineering studies with the university and is part of a program where Arcadis is actively supporting changes to drive stronger diversity in the engineering sector

Voicing marginalised experiences through employee networks

Employee networks help make the voices of underrepresented groups heard at Arcadis. Like Kaleidoscope, Arcadis' LGBT+ Network, which was a finalist in the prestigious British LGBT Awards. It's this commitment to LGBT inclusion, such as being the first company in the construction industry to create a transitioning at work policy, that allows employees like Project Manager Jas Fernandez to be herself at work.

"I feel that everyone matters in Arcadis, and it's different here, so it's a place where you can feel comfortable, where people look after you and respect you," she says.

Pledging to support political refugees in Europe

Arcadis has also pledged to hire 45 recognized political refugees in Europe over the next three years to support the integration of refugees into the labor market. This pledge is part of Arcadis' wider commitment to diversity and inclusion and to improve quality of life both within and outside the workplace.
