Being truly engaged in one's work, and having opportunities to excel and thrive, can be rewarding on many levels.
One talented woman who is definitely making a positive impact and enjoying her career journey is Emily Durrant, People Partner for Product & Technology at Entain.
Emily is responsible for partnering with leaders to drive the people strategy across Entain's global Product & Technology teams. Her remit includes everything from organisational design and talent development, through to performance, engagement, and change management. A fabulous role indeed!
Understanding the people impact of transformation
A recent focus for Emily has been supporting Entain's Product & Technology transformation. Her work has certainly been impressive and her enthusiasm elevated.
"I have been helping to structure teams in a more logical way, embed new ways of working, and measure engagement throughout to ensure we are creating an environment where our people can thrive and deliver their best work," explains Emily.
Her work has been helping identify how teams are coping with various transformations underway.
"I have been helping design and implement a pulse survey to understand how colleagues were feeling about our Product & Technology transformation. Change can be exciting, but it can also be unsettling. I believe that truly listening to our people is one of the most important steps in making any transformation successful," suggests Emily.
"The survey has been providing Entain with valuable insight into how teams are experiencing changes, what has been working well and where things could be better. This work is something that I am especially proud of because it has helped ensure our people feel heard and involved, and that we are building a transformation that everyone can feel aligned with and be excited to be part of."
Opportunities to grow, learn, and bring value
Emily says that working in Entain's dynamic and fast-paced environment has always been a balancing act, but has pushed her to develop both personally and professionally.
She is thriving in her role, and her impressive work achievements have certainly not gone unnoticed.
Emily was awarded Apprentice of the Year at the 2025 Women in Gaming Diversity Awards. This accolade underscores her significant achievements and reinforces her contribution to fostering an inclusive and innovative environment at Entain.

"Being named Apprentice of the Year has been an incredible honour. Being nominated alongside such a talented and inspiring group of women is something I am deeply proud of," says Emily. "This recognition is a powerful reminder that the hard work and dedication in balancing a full-time role with an apprenticeship is very rewarding. It is not always easy, but the opportunity to grow, learn, and bring value to Entain makes the challenge very worthwhile. This award reflects not just my journey, but the overall support and culture at Entain that empowers people to thrive and succeed."

Thriving in a truly diverse and inclusive work culture
Entain is well recognisd for its commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and Emily plays an active role in forging this agenda.
"Diversity and inclusion are often seen as the responsibility of HR, and while I’m proud to play a role in driving that agenda, what has made it genuinely easy and rewarding is that diversity, equity and inclusion is truly a core value at Entain. It’s not just a policy or a programme, it is embedded in how we work, lead, and grow," attests Emily.
In her role as People Partner, Emily actively support leaders in building inclusive, high-performing teams by ensuring their people practices reflect Entain's values - from how teams are structured and roles are designed, through to how Entain hires, develops, and engages talent.
And when it comes to gender equality, Emily believes that Entain has made real and tangible progress in supporting women in technology.
"One of the most impactful initiatives has been the launch of our Women@Entain network. It is our first global community dedicated to connecting, celebrating, and empowering women across the business, including those in the Product & Technology arena," says Emily. "What makes Women@Entain so powerful is that it creates safe, inclusive spaces where women can share experiences, collaborate, and inspire one another. It is open to all women at Entain and also welcomes allies. This sense of community and shared purpose has been a huge driver of engagement and empowerment," she says.
Externally, initiatives like the Women in Gaming Diversity Awards have also played a key role in recognising and celebrating the incredible talent at Entain. "Participating in these awards and and seeing Entain colleagues acknowledged on an industry stage reinforces the importance of visibility, representation, and our continued investment in women’s development," explains Emily. "Together, these programmes are helping build a more inclusive and innovative culture; one where women in technology can truly thrive."
Furthermore, mentorship and development programs are central to Entain's strategy for supporting women in technology. Through structured mentorship schemes and continuous learning opportunities, Entain seeks to foster an environment where women can thrive and advance their careers.

Entain is a prime employer for women
Being able to attract a broad and diverse pool of the best talent is vital for Entain's success. "We’re committed to creating a workplace where people from all backgrounds can do their best work and building a culture of belonging, community and trust," states the company. Additionally, the roles at Entain are very exciting and provide some exceptional pathways for advancement.
When it comes to further women aspiring to enter or progress in the gaming and technology sectors, Emily has some clear advice: "Go for it. There has never been a better time. I have worked across a range of industries like manufacturing, fintech, publishing, and now gaming, and I can honestly say that gaming has been the most welcoming and diverse environment I have experienced. The progress I have seen in attitudes toward women in the workplace over the past decade has been incredible, and it gives me real hope and excitement for where we will be in the next 10, 20, or even 30 years."
Emily suggests that women should seek out communities and networks that support and uplift them, much like Entain's own Women@Entain network. "Do not be afraid to ask for mentorship or guidance throughout your career. Surround yourself with people who champion your growth and remember that your perspective is not only valid but valuable. Most importantly, trust yourself because you do not need to have all the answers or tick every box in order to take your next step."
With leaders like Emily at the helm, Entain continues to be a top employer that consistently champions diversity and fosters innovation and inclusion across the gaming industry.
