Diageo Colombia has been recognised for its efforts to promote gender diversity within the business, ranking fifth out of 209 companies in the PAR: Ranking of Gender Equality in Organisations.
"We know that for our business to thrive and for Diageo to realise its ambition, we depend on having diverse talent with a range of backgrounds, skills and capabilities in each of the 180 countries in which we operate and to reflect our broad consumer base. And we view diversity as one of the key enablers that helps our business to grow," said Diageo.
Gaining recognition
The PAR: Ranking of Gender Equality in Organisations is put together by Aequales in partnership with the College of Higher Studies of Administration - CESA, and the District Secretariat of Women of Bogotá. Now in its fourth year, the index evaluates the performance of organisations in Peru and Colombia based on their initiatives and policies to drive gender equality.
The index evaluated 209 private and public companies in the region, with Diageo Colombia gaining recognition for its initiatives to reduce gender inequality and champion diversity within the organisation.
In addition to being named in the top five, Diageo Colombia was the only beverages company to be included in the top 20 as well as the highest ranking food and beverages company to feature in the list.
