EBRD names Victoria Zinchuk as new Director for Croatia

Victoria Zinchuk has been appointed new EBRD Director for Croatia. In this position she will head the Bank’s Resident Office in Zagreb, with a staff of 17, from 1 November.

Vast experience in agribusiness

Ms Zinchuk joined the EBRD in 2002 and most recently served as Associate Director in the Agribusiness Department where she led banking transactions and advised on project structuring with cumulative financing provided to local and multinational clients in excess of €1 billion in a wide range of countries where the EBRD invests.

In 2013 she established the Agribusiness Advisory team leading the EBRD’s policy engagement in the sector, designing innovative blended financial products and managing stakeholder relationships with private investors, government officials and financial institutions. In 2016, Ms Zinchuk served as Acting Head of Agribusiness and in 2018 she led the EBRD operations in Morocco as Acting Director, Head of Office.

Victoria brings enthusiasm, expertise and energy to this important job. Building on the strong foundations we have in the country she will further expand and deepen our activities here.”

The Bank’s focus in the country is on the corporate sector. To date, the EBRD has invested €3.7 billion in more than 200 projects in Croatia and typically invests around €200 million in new projects every year.

Ms Zinchuk holds master’s degrees in banking and finance from the Kiev State University of Economics, Ukraine and the University of Central England, Birmingham. She succeeds Vedrana Jelušić Kašić, who had been EBRD Director for Croatia from 2013 to 2018, and recently left the Bank to continue her career in the private sector.
