Nottingham Trent University achieves highest ever ranking

Nottingham Trent University (NTU) announced that it has achieved its highest ever ranking in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide.

Continuous advancements

A climb of ten places to 37th in the guide caps a remarkable year for the university - and follows a rise in the same table last year, when NTU was also named Modern University of the Year.

It means that the university has now risen for consecutive years in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, the Complete University Guide and the Guardian University Guide, where it was one of the biggest climbers and soared to 16th.

The university has also previously won the coveted Times Higher Education University of the Year accolade. The University’s Nottingham Business School, meanwhile, has been shortlisted for The Times Higher Education Business School of the Year, with winners announced soon.

The university, which holds the highest possible ‘gold’ rating for the quality of its teaching, has also seen consistent improvement in student satisfaction rankings for a number of years.

An outstanding university

The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide measures areas such as student satisfaction with teaching quality and the wider university experience, research quality, graduate job prospects and money spent on services and facilities.

Nottingham Trent University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Edward Peck, said: “The consistent message across all of these measures of esteem is straightforward: NTU is now one of the UK’s outstanding universities.”
