 June 04, 2015

 Read time

Aya runs a desk that connects global issuers and investors by arranging the private placement of bond transactions around the world. She has effectively set the business up from scratch, describing Nomura as an “open, flat and agile” culture where she was able to make the most of the market opportunities provided.

These leadership qualities made Aya a perfect candidate for the inaugural Women’s Sponsorship Programme at Nomura.

“It’s encouraging to have other successful senior women who I can learn from and who really understand the day-to-day challenges.”

“But at Nomura, a career is not only about work,” she says.

With a two year old son at home, the key to her success is finding the right balance.

“Being a working mum in such a dynamic environment is exciting, given that the two tasks - motherhood and trading - pose very different challenges.”

Join impressive women at Nomura, like Aya, running exciting projects and managing rewarding careers with the bank.
