HCL's #SheInspires captures the life stories of women who've blazed a trail in the STEM fields. HCL is hopeful that these stories and their further programs will help inspire the next generation of women leaders in STEM.

"I contribute a lot of my success to the people who've been there for me, who've coached me ... I think you have to leverage that ... and then turn around and help the next person, put your hand back and help them move forward," Bona Collins, Senior Director, HCL (pictured above).

Focus on what matters

"One rule above all others that I followed in my life is to have a disproportionate focus on high-impact, high-outcome work. Over the years, I tried to practice the art of shutting the noise out and keeping my eyes fixed on the big picture. This has ensured that I remain competitive and relevant. So don't waste time sweating the small stuff. Don't waste your energy on politics, noise, ego, hassles - none of that matters in the long run - only high impact outcomes matter," says Zulfia Nafees.

HCL supports working mothers

"When I joined HCL, I was changing industries completely from media to technology. At that time, I was also learning to adapt to a completely new new role as a mother. It was challenging but I decided to just go with the flow and see how much I could handle and and take it one step at a time," says Neha Lamba.

From lawyer to data privacy

"I'm an attorney by training but what I do now, is a lot of work in the technology space. I started off my career as a lawyer and realized that I really did want to do something that had to do with technology - moving from a very traditional legal background to data privacy and data privacy law ... About midway through my career, I realized I was interested in technology but taking that leap is really a leap of faith. One of the things that really helped me in my journey from moving from being a lawyer to doing data privacy and security work was the support that I had from those around me. Other than obviously professional support I received from the people that I worked with and mentors, I relied significantly on my on my family - my husband, with with a newborn child. My parents would come to visit and help when I had business trips to attend to and these are things that I think obviously are really critical in order to try to make the type of change that I made, and I'm grateful for that support," says Urvashi Sen.
