F5’s Colleen McMillan honored as a CRN Channel Chief

 February 19, 2019

F5 Networks’ Vice President of Global Channel Sales, Colleen McMillan, has been named as a 2019 Channel Chief by CRN.

The CRN Channel Chiefs is an annual list of partner-focused business leaders who drive the local partner strategies for the world’s leading technology vendors.

Making this list is a real achievement for Colleen as CRN spends months collating some of the top leaders doing exceptional work in partner-facing roles.

Coleen joined F5 in December as its Vice President of Global Channel Sales. Prior to that, she held various channel leadership positions for companies including VMware, Citrix, Qlik, and most recently, Gemalto (formally known as SafeNet).

Helping partners to grow and develop themselves

Colleen is continually experiencing F5’s channel attitude first-hand and says that the company’s commitment to its partners attracted her to her current role.

According to CRN, F5 earns about 90% of its revenue through the channel despite the innovations of the cloud, and its partner-first approach has "far exceeded" Colleen’s expectations.

Colleen tells CRN: "There's strong alignment from the top down. The last thing you want to do as a channel person is join a company and then find out they're not fully in, but we are channel-first, and we're not moving away from that."

She says that businesses undergoing digital transformation such as F5 are relying on partners and it is therefore important for F5 to actively invest in its channel work.

Colleen adds: "I'm looking to help our partners grow and develop themselves, and make sure that F5 is providing the right programs and tools to help support that success and business outcomes with their customers."
