Arcadis is named one of the UK's top corporate advisors

Arcadis has been named as one of the UK’s top corporate advisors for the second year running, according to the Financial Times’ list of the UK’s Leading Management Consultancies 2019. Consultants are scored across a range of categories, such as Aerospace, Insurance and Data Analytics. Arcadis was listed highly in Construction & Infrastructure, Finance, Risk, & Compliance and Public & Social.

Offering the very best consultancy advice

The rankings are based on surveys from the consultants themselves about their opinions of their colleagues, as well as based on feedback from the consultancies’ clients. The rankings are then created according to the number of recommendation each consultancy receives. With than 8,000 different management consultancies operating in the UK and a total of just 200 consultancies featuring right across the rankings, Arcadis’ position puts it well within the top 2.5% of all consultancies in the UK.

“In an unstable political and economic environment, clients are seeking certainty of action more than ever before. At Arcadis, our role in providing clear advice, leadership and direction puts us at the very heart of corporate strategy, and we are committed to working in close partnership with our clients to help them navigate these turbulent times," says Mark Cowlard, UK CEO of Arcadis.

"Our priority has always been to put the needs of our clients first and, with a focus on technology and digital innovation ensuring we stay at the forefront of industry developments, offer the very best consultancy advice across all our relevant sectors and business lines.”

Impressive women are working at Arcadis

Arcadis’ excellence in the consulting industry has been further proven through its shortlisting across a number of categories at the MCA Awards. These include ‘Best Use of Thought Leadership’ for the Investing in Britain campaign, which looks at future opportunities related to re-investment in the UK’s infrastructure, as well as the ‘Commercial Excellence’ category for work around the Digital Railway Programme with Network Rail.

Two women at Arcadis also received individual awards: Suzanne Lloyd for 'Outstanding Achievement' and Holly McEwan for 'Team Leader Consultant of the Year'.

Suzanne Lloyd, Partner and Senior Director at Arcadis

Suzanne has a passion for bettering quality of life and has been at the head of multiple commissions and programmes for the public sector. She has made a positive difference to the work-life balance for 70,000 government employees by changing workplace culture and improved access to safe housing for tenants through work on the housing repair process. Through her work on a hospital transformation, she helped bring cancer services nearer to patients.

Suzanne has also helped bring together the Arcadis team and its clients through her strong leadership and teamwork. Her transparency and communication skills allow fellow Arcadians to share and be inspired by her vision. Suzanne wants to develop her teams and share best practice through knowledge that reaches as far as the Cabinet Office and the European Commission.

Suzanne is an expert in consultancy and has used her trustworthiness, authentic and approachability to change the status quo. She has headed up inter-government groups for the Ministry of Justice, has been involved in the design of key policy engagement events and has helped to change workspaces.

Holly McEwan, Principal Consultant at Arcadis

"During my 5 years at Arcadis I have had the privilege to work with a large number of talented people. Regardless of colleague’s levels or the clients challenge, I believe that all teams should be well balanced," says Holly.

"The team should feel challenged to ensure that they are still learning, whilst feeling adequately supported, able to exceed the client’s expectations and importantly have fun. Creating this balance is different for each team but my clear and effective communications skills enable me to gain the buy-in and trust of clients and team members at all levels. I use these skills to help to cultivate the delicate team balance."

At Arcadis, Holly has developed her skills in change management and is now lucky enough to lead the internal team as well as designing and delivering large scale change programmes across a range of sectors. This has allowed her to focus on designing sustainable solutions which change the way in which Arcadis delivers change programmes as well as focusing on building the capability and capacity of the team to be able to respond to the demand.

"I do not just adopt a team leader role in my work for Arcadis but also in my activities for charity outside of work. Whether it is organising a team to climb the three peaks, compete in a half marathon or Tough Mudder I focus on building a diverse team who want to push themselves and have fun along the way," adds Holly.
