Angela Webb is a HR Consultant at Schneider Electric. She supports managers and leaders within the Digital Energy team with activities focused on performance and talent management. She is an advocate for diversity and inclusion and believes that companies have a responsibility to embrace diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Angela shares insights on how Schneider Electric is increasing its diversity and inclusion efforts and living up to its core value “Embrace Different”.

A career of learning and growth

Angela’s time at Schneider Electric has been one of learning and growth both personally and professionally. She explains that opportunities for career growth and development at Schneider Electric directly link to the contribution and ambition of each employee, whatever their gender or ethnicity.

“As a woman and person of color, I have found this to be true of my own career even in the absence of a comprehensive diversity and inclusion strategy,” adds Angela.

An expanding diversity strategy

“Embrace Different” is one of Schneider Electric’s core values. Recently, Schneider Electric has focused on gender diversity such as hiring, developing, and advancing women at Schneider Electric. Angela is happy to see that the strategy now includes ethnicity, veterans, generations, LGBTI, and those with disabilities.

The importance of representation

Angela believes diversity, inclusion and representation within the workforce is vital for the success of a company like Schneider Electric.

“In order to be a leading contender in the U.S. marketplace, the faces and voices of Schneider Electric have to mirror the faces and voices of the customers we serve,” says Angela.
