Lauren Haag wins Eaton's James R. Stover Volunteerism Award

Lauren Haag, Vice President in IT for Eaton, is a winner of Eaton's James R. Stover Volunteerism Award for Community Service. Winners of this award are employees who have helped make a difference in communities around the world through their volunteer efforts.

Devoting time and effort to those in need

Lauren devotes more than 200 hours each year volunteering for the Southeast Asian/Pacific Islander Heritage Camp, which welcomes children adopted from Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands and their families. She is also a breast cancer survivor who guides others through online support groups.

"Thank you Lauren for your dedication to those in need," commented Eaton.

Recognizing the impressive accomplishments of Eaton employees

Every year, Eaton recognizes the extraordinary accomplishments of employees who volunteer in their communities with the James R. Stover Volunteerism Award for Community Service. The Stover Awards are named to honor James R. Stover, Chairman of the board of Eaton from 1986 to 1991. Any Eaton employee can nominate full-time employees who demonstrate leadership or service in community organizations.

The Senior Vice President within each business unit appoints a selection committee to review nominations. The committee chooses an award recipient based on the following criteria:

  • Positive impact of the employee's involvement in both the organization and the community.
  • Extent to which the nominee has demonstrated leadership or unwavering dedication to the organization.
  • Importance of the activity or institution to an Eaton community, employees and their families.
  • Volunteer service with other nonprofit community organizations.
  • Letter(s) of commendation from the organization for which the employee volunteers.

Stover Volunteerism Award recipients each receive a commemorative trophy, a check for US$2,500 payable to the nonprofit organization of their choice, and special recognition by Eaton's Chairman and CEO at a formal ceremony.
