Diageo female leaders recognized as ethnic minority role models

Mairéad Nayager, Diageo Chief HR Officer, and Hina Nagarajan, Diageo Managing Director, Africa Emerging Markets, have been recognised in INvolve EMpower Ethnic Minority Role Model Lists, for their efforts to champion inclusivity of ethnic minorities within Diageo and beyond.

Ongoing work to champion diversity

The INvolve EMpower Ethnic Minority Role Model Lists are split into three categories: Senior Executives, Future Leaders and Advocates. Mairead is among those on the EMpower Advocates list and Hina features in the Senior Executive list.

Their inclusion in the list recognizes their ongoing work to champion diversity throughout their careers and create an inclusive environment for individuals from ethnic minorities in the workplace and outside of it.

The EMpower Ethnic Minority Role Model Lists are a celebration of the outstanding achievements of people of colour in the business community throughout the UK, Ireland, Europe, United States and Canada. Lists are published annually and showcase 100 Ethnic Minority Executives, 15 Advocates and 50 Ethnic Minority Future Leaders.

Creating a fully inclusive business

“I am very honoured to be included alongside my fantastic colleague Hina Nagarajan on this year’s EMpower list. We believe that creating a fully inclusive and diverse business is both the right thing to do, and a key enabler to help our business grow," says Mairéad.

"As Diageo’s Executive Sponsor for Race I feel more determined than ever to ensure Diageo is a great place to work for people of all ethnicities."

“I am delighted to be recognised by EMPower’s Role Model List. Furthering an inclusive and diverse culture at work is a real passion for me and I have striven to use my previous roles around the world as a platform to develop and export ethnic minority talent to global positions," adds Hina.

"Diageo is an absolute leader in this space and I am proud to be part of its ongoing commitment to equalising the workplace. This is the perfect place for me to not only grow and achieve my ambitions, but to also grow many more talented people from ethnic minorities along the way.”
