If you want to return to work after a career break, beverages company Diageo supports women with relevant engineering skills and experience who have taken a career break of 2+ years - and, what's more, the salary reflects the candidate experience as well as the industry average.

An exciting six month career returner's programme

About Diageo's returnship support 

Diageo's returnship support enables career returners to build confidence on their return to work while progressing skills in an exciting role. A 6 month programme is offered from time to time, offering a mentor throughout the Returnship as well as development relating to leadership skills and on-the-job-training.

For example, one of the more recent roles sought was in the International Supply Centre (ISC) Engineering team that provides Capital Project support to Cameronbridge Distillery, Leven Spirit Supply, Leven Packaging and Central Sites or Malt Distilling. The overall purpose of this team is to deliver the strategy for asset development and includes:

  • using specialist knowledge to deliver capital expenditure projects to the correct technical specification.
  • managing efficient spend for capital expenditure projects.
  • co-ordinating and managing external resources.

Diageo generally looks for people with character: motivated, resilient and open-minded. Previous solid experience within your area of expertise is important as are your qualifications and / or specialist skills. Previous experience in project management or health and safety for example can also be important. Being good at relationship building skills are key, as is excellent communication skills and effective communication.
