Vodafone embraces innovation via technology projects in Malta

Serpil Timuray is CEO of Vodafone's Europe Cluster and Member of the Vodafone Group Executive Committee.

Serpil was appointed CEO of the Europe Cluster in 2018, which comprises Albania, Czech Republic, Greece, Ireland, Hungary, Malta, Portugal, Romania and Turkey. In this capacity she also oversees Vodafone’s interest in the Netherlands joint venture with Liberty Global.

Connecting Malta and its people for a better future

Serpil recently visited Vodafone's business in Malta and attended the signing of a significant technology partnership with the Maltese Government.

"Vodafone will be part of the government’s ambitious programme to embrace innovation, with Group employees developing disruptive technology projects in the country, more local employees working internationally and Maltese students gaining internships," she explains.

"We also will give local tech ventures access to Vodafone’s technology and world-leading expertise. Additionally, we will work on pilot projects to develop a digital society in Malta including smart parking in the town of Luqa that will reduce carbon emissions and improve air quality by enabling drivers to find a space to stop more quickly," adds Serpil.

"This great partnership shows what we can achieve by working together with government on our shared ambition to connect Malta and its people for a better future."
