Adding value to the business

Karen has had a number of roles at senior level within financial control, but she always wanted an appointment where she could really add value to the business.

"The opportunity came at Spirax-Sarco Engineering​​​​​​​ where I get involved in a really broad remit with two teams working for me," she says.

"One looks after multiple payrolls, including the pension plan. The other a Central Finance team who concentrate on internal and external reporting - statutory, tax, VAT, expenses and who perform treasury functions."

"I also devote time to the role as Finance Business Partner for GOGC (Group Oil, Gas and Chemicals)."

"There's a wonderful culture here which is challenging but really collaborative, supportive and rewarding," she adds.
