Schneider Electric Canada cited as top employer for young people

 January 20, 2020

Celebrations are in store for Schneider Electric Canada Inc. as the company was selected as one of Canada's Top Employers for Young People.

Why Schneider Electric is great for young employees

Schneider Electric Canada manages a rotational commercial leadership program to provide exposure to the company's main areas of business over a two-to-three-year period. Through this program, candidates work in quotations, manufacturing and engineering, and sales and marketing, and are exposed to senior leadership, including the country president and CEO

Early-career staff are invited to take part in the program to participate in experiential learning opportunities such as job shadowing or team challenges. In one particular challenge, participants are split into teams and led by a designated sponsor to assess issues in the organization and provide creative solutions.

The success of being named one of Canada's Top Employers for Young People is bolstered by the news that Schneider Electric has been selected for The Career Directory, a guide to entry-level recruitment for recent college and university graduates.

Further success for a top employer

Schneider Electric Canada has also been selected as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers and Greater Toronto's Top Employers.

Here are some of the reasons why the company received the prestigious accolade:

  • prioritizing learning amongst employees and organizing a dedicated Learning Week, which features classroom and online training on a variety of topics such as retirement planning, company products, and mental health in the workplace. The company also offers tuition subsidies for employees to further their education externally

  • committed to advancing gender equality and managing a dedicated women's leadership program to support the development of high-potential female employees

  • offering 3.8 weeks of starting vacation, moving to 4.4 weeks after five years of employment - the company also offers a variety of flexible working arrangements to help employees manage their personal and professional lives
