 May 14, 2020

Amazon has been tenaciously recruiting 175,000  new associates throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Successfully filling their target, Amazon's new employees are working across many sites as the company continues to see increased demand as teams support their communities.

Investing in new employees

Amazon knew many people had been economically impacted as jobs in areas like hospitality, restaurants and travel were lost or furloughed as part of this crisis, so they welcomed anyone out of work to join them at Amazon until their past employer could bring them back.

The company extended the increased hourly pay and extended double overtime pay in the U.S. and Canada. In addition, Amazon is providing flexibility with leave of absence options, including expanding the policy to cover COVID-19 circumstances, such as high-risk individuals or school closures.

They continue to see heavy demand as the team delivers incredible work for their customers and the community.

Investing in health safety measures

The company continues to invest in safety, pay, and benefits for teams who are playing an invaluable role in getting items to communities around the world.
