AECOM and Arcadis women make Top 50 Women in Engineering list

Women working at AECOM and Arcadis have been named in the Top 50 Women in Engineering list.

AECOM Technician, Rhiannon Evans, and Arcadis Resilient Cities Director, Anusha Shah, are celebrated for their achievemnts via the prestigious accolade supported by the Women's Engineering Society in the UK.

The recognition was awarded on International Women in Engineering Day (INWED).

The judges stated that the standard of the nominations was extremely high and highlighted the exceptional achievements made by women, particularly in sustainability.

Sally Sudworth, Head Judge of the awards, said: “The panel of judges was thrilled by with the outstanding achievements demonstrated by all of the winners and were thrilled by the difference being made by the candidates.”

Meet Rhiannon Evans of AECOM

Rhiannon Evans AECOM technicianRhiannon studied for a BEng in Civil Engineering at Coventry University, and began her engineering career at Atkins as a Civil Engineering Apprentice.

She joined the Streets team at AECOM as a Technician and was involved with the detailed design of the Sprint (Bus Rapid Transit) project in Birmingham to improve public transport in the local area.

Meet Anusha Shah of Arcadis

Anusha joined Arcadis from her previous position as Founder and CEO of Plan for Earth, a consultancy offering advisory services in water, climate change adaptation and resilience, sustainability and inclusive design. She was also a Director at Jacobs, and a Senior Consultant with TRIOSS.

In her position with Arcadis, Anusha works with city leaders to better understand short and long-term resiliency planning challenges. She also supports organisations in meeting their net zero targets, and in maintaining sustainability as they respond to the pressures of mass urbanisation and climate change. 

"I am absolutely delighted, proud and humbled to be amongst such amazing Top 50 Women in Engineering on sustainability. Thank you," said Anusha.
