Cricket Australia International captain Meg Lanning was interviewed by Melanie Jones OAM as part of HCL's Inspired Series to discuss leadership, innovation and team building through cricket.

Meg Lanning is an Australian cricketer who currently captains the national women's team. She has been a member of five successful world championship campaigns, winning one Women's Cricket World Cup and four ICC Women's World Twenty20 titles. Meg holds the record for the most Women's One Day International centuries and is the first Australian to score 2,000 Twenty20 International runs. Domestically, she is the captain of Victoria in the Women's National Cricket League and also plays for the Melbourne Stars in the Women's Big Bash League.

Via HCL's Inspired Series, Meg was interviewed alongside further sporting personalities. "HCL is a leading global technology company that helps global enterprises re-imagine and transform their businesses through digital technology transformation and empower them with technology for the next decade and today," explained Melanie.

An ecosystem of cricket, business and life

"The Inspired Series will bring you into Cricket Australia's ecosystem of cricket, business and life through a range of personnel including players, legends, coaches and executives - and believe me we will be hearing at all the highs and lows, the fork in the road moments, the career defining decisions made and not made," said Melanie. "We won't be shying away from the biggest learning moments. Their stories are also HCL stories. The theme of each episode will echo HCL's own values of leadership, innovation, resilience, drive, agility and transformation - something we can all relate to and get inspiration from."

Meg Lanning is one of the world's pre-eminent players but also one of Australia's leading sportswomen. In her second One Day International, she scored a century against England. Since then she has gone on to surpass all before, by scoring the most amount of centuries in women's One Day Internationals and in doing so also became the fastest batter, male or female, to score 13 centuries in One Day International Cricket. As captain of the Australian Women's Cricket Team, she has led her country to three T20 World Cup titles, three Ash's wins and is looking to add a 50 over World Cup to her captaincy achievements.
