Schneider Electric UK&I President discusses gender representation

"I was often the only woman in the room. That's changed," says Kelly Becker, who is responsible for all Schneider Electric operations within the UK and Ireland.

Featuring in a BBC article, Kelly explains how there has been a shift in the number of women holding leadership roles within companies - although there had "been a lot of work done" to achieve this.

Supporting Kelly's insights, the article cites figures released by the Hampton-Alexander Review: women are now making up more than a third of top jobs at the UK's 350's largest firms, and the number of women on boards has risen 50% from 682 to 1,026 in five years.

"It takes really careful thinking and planning to drive diversity into organizations, not just gender, but diversity of thought, diversity of experience, diversity of background," Kelly adds.

"Companies have been very clear that their business will perform better with diversity."
