Diageo celebrated a milestone in its industry-leading family leave policy by spotlighting Nicole Dennis, Head of Independents, who shares her story of starting a family.

A game-changing family leave policy

For Nicole, although it was daunting to start a family in a different city away from her support network, Diageo's family leave policy was a "game changer".

As the policy covered 26 weeks at full pay for Nicole, her husband could take some extended time off as unpaid leave. This enabled him to be with their new baby in the early months after the birth, and to support Nicole's transition into motherhood.

"As a result our family thrived," says Nicole. "Diageo is a business that really leads by example in creating social change," she adds. "I'm proud to be part of an organisation that values inclusion so deeply that it extends to our family unit."
