Disability inclusion drives innovation at Medtronic, which is why the company is proud to score 100 on the 2021 Disability Equality Index.
For the fourth consecutive year, Medtronic has also been recognized as a Best Place to Work for the fourth straight year by Disability:IN, a leading nonprofit resource for business disability inclusion worldwide whose mission is to help forge an inclusive global economy where people with disabilities participate fully and meaningfully.
Celebrating Medtronic's leading disability inclusion practices
The Disability Equality Index (DEI) is a comprehensive annual benchmarking tool, facilitated by Disability:IN and the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD).
A score of 100 on the DEI means that Medtronic adheres to many of the numerous leading disability inclusion practices featured in the DEI.
The index considers a variety of key performance indicators across organizational culture, leadership, accessibility, employment, community engagement, support services and supplier diversity.
The benchmarking tool was developed in consultation with the appointed DEI Advisory Committee, a diverse and voluntary group of experts in disability advocacy, business, and policy.
Receiving support via Medtronic's Disabilities Resource Group
One of the many ways Medtronic fosters its inclusive environment is through its Diversity Networks and Employee Resource Groups.
Medtronic Diversity Networks are teams of CEO—appointed leaders who champion programs and policies that advance more women and ethnically diverse employees into leadership roles.
Medtronic Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are built on shared interests and affinities that create a fabric of support to retain, develop, and engage employees locally. ERGs focus on professional development and community building at a grassroots level.
Medtronic's Disabilities Resource Group supports and advocates for employees with disabilities.
Be your authentic self at Medtronic
