Showcasing the rewarding benefits of working for a community-focused employer, HCL Technologies teamed up with Liga para a Protecção da Natureza (LPN), a nationwide Non-Governmental Environmental Organization (ONGA), to mobilise a 20-strong team of volunteers to embark on a beach clean up mission in Algés, near Lisbon, Portugal.
Community environmental initiative

Working together with LPN, which was founded in 1948 and is the oldest Association for the defense of the environment in the Iberian Peninsula, HCL's volunteers cleared over 20 kilograms of beach waste.
Building on sustainabilty goals

The beach clean up collaboration draws on HCL Technologies' environmental commitments. As a member of the United Nations Global Compact, HCL views sustainability in three ways: economic, social, and environmental.
Indeed, the company's eco foundation is based on a combination of how materially important they are to its business and stakeholders. These are defined in four main areas:
- Renew Ecosystem
- Redefine Workplace
- Responsible Business
- Repay Society
HCL's green pledge cements its position as a conscious employer, with the shaping and strengthening of the economic, social and financial future of the world, and specifically of the communities where it operates, being at the heart of its culture.
The company has seen its focus on environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals deliver strong value, allowing it to grow as an organisation and build lasting and productive relationships with its employees, clients and stakeholders.
