Switzerland's Federal Council has announced the appointment of Rosmarie Schlup as Switzerland's Director for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London, effective 1st September.
Rosmarie will succeed Remigi Winzap at the EBRD, who has been the Director since September 2018.
Inspiring female leadership
Born in Lengnau in the canton of Bern, Rosmarie studied International Relations at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva and gained a Master of Science in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics in 2008.
Rosmarie moved on to take on global positions, joining the Export and Location Promotion Section in the Promotion Activities Directorate at SECO as a Senior Officer and Head of delegation of the Paris Club in 2009, before being promoted to Deputy Head of Section in August 2010.
Rosmarie then took on the role of Deputy Head of SECO’s Macroeconomic Support Division, from 2011 to 2015, before being appointed Senior Technical Assistance Officer at the International Monetary Fund in Washington from 2015 to 2016. She is currently Head of the Macroeconomic Support Division at the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
