WTW Senior Director of Health & Benefits and North America Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion leader Rachael McCann is speaking at Illuminate: Workforce Health, Reimagined, a thought leadership event hosted by healthcare navigation company Castlight Health.

Illuminate is exploring the trends and best practices that will transform workforce health. It is a day filled with big ideas, intimate conversations, and abundant opportunities to mingle with industry peers and engage with innovative thought leaders on the future of digital health, the latest data-driven insights on workforce health, and the next generation of benefits.

Joining industry leaders to discuss workplace health

Speaking on the topic of America’s Vulnerable Populations Live Inside (Not Just Outside) Your Workforce, Rachael joins a panel with fellow industry leaders Marcus Osborne, Former Senior Vice President, Walmart Health, and Margarita Pereyda, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Ambulatory Care Network, Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, with moderation by Mary Cain, MPH, Vice President, Clinical Product, Castlight Health.

Alongside the other panelists, Rachael is discussing how social determinants of health (SDoH) influence 80% of health outcomes. More than one in four commercially-insured individuals face barriers to care driven by SDoH. These risks can impact employer spend, outcomes, and workforce productivity. At risk individuals are 50% less likely to receive preventive services and 3x more likely to visit the emergency room. Additionally, these individuals have higher rates of turnover leading to more workforce instability. She and her fellow panellists are exploring how employers can better understand and address barriers to care in their population.

"Looking forward to speaking on the “America’s Vulnerable Populations Live Inside (Not Just Outside) Your Workforce” panel at Illuminate, Castlight Health’s brand new event for employers, healthcare thought leaders, and digital health innovators," says Rachael.
