Working for a very sustainability focused employer can be very rewarding.
“It’s a priority of ours to minimize our portfolio’s impact on the environment across each brand’s packaging life cycle. Addressing the recyclability of our portfolio is just one of the ways we can do that,” said Kim Marotta, Vice President - Global Head of Environmental Sustainability.
As part of this focus, Beam Suntory has joined the How2Recycle® label program to assess the recyclability of its packaging in the USA & Canada.
The smart label system will clearly communicate transparent recycling instructions on-pack, empowering consumers to take proper action when recycling Beam Suntory products.
This partnership supports Beam Suntory's ambitious, long-term packaging goals as part of its $1 billion Proof Positive sustainability strategy.
Beam Suntory aims to achieve 40% recycled materials by weight across its packaging portfolio and use 100% recyclable packaging by 2030.
Driving recycling efforts
How2Recycle®'s mission is to get more materials in the recycling bin by taking the guesswork out of recycling. Goals of the initiative include:
- reduce confusion by creating a clear, well-understood, and nationally harmonized label that enables companies to convey to consumers how to recycle a package
- improve the reliability, completeness, and transparency of recyclability claims
- provide a labeling system that is designed to follow the US Federal Trade Commission and Competition Bureau Canada’s guidance
- increase the availability and quality of recycled material
Giving back to the environment

With quality brands that start with the blessings of nature, Beam Suntory will give back more to the environment than it uses, investing to reduce its footprint in water, the climate, forests, packaging, and more.
