The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) incorporates a focus on gender in everything it does.
Mainstreaming gender equality

The Bank has provided a significant loan to Turkiye Sinai Kalkinma Bankasi A.S. with proceeds not only being used to finance corporate and residential sectors to support green economy investments, but to also mainstream gender-responsive on-lending and the integration of gender equality considerations in the lending strategies and practices.
Setting clear targets for gender equality

EBRD Director of Gender & Economic Inclusion, Barbara Rambousek [pictured above], presented the Bank's strategies in Turkey - Equality of Opportunity Strategy and the Strategy for the Promotion of Gender Equality.
"Progress can only come through a combination of capacity building but also the setting of clear targets for gender equality," explained Barbara.

Barbara Rambousek highlighted the importance of enabling more women to work in the transport sector. In her speech in Turkey, she outlined how leaving women behind halves the talent pool, and misses out on incredible human capital gains.
