Nottingham Trent University (NTU) recently celebrated Women in Construction Week by spotlighting staff and students in the industry.
"We want to take this opportunity to celebrate and recognise our fantastic female staff and students, who are shaping the future of the construction industry," said NTU.
Taking a leadership role in the construction process

NTU supports women to enter and work within the construction industry via its Construction Management BSc Hons degree course designed for students who want to undertake a leadership role in the global building construction process. With an emphasis on sustainability, technology and management, students develop a wealth of knowledge and wide range of professional skills needed to successfully manage complex construction projects.
Furthermore, NTU's Construction Management Bsc helps develop knowledge of the fundamental principles of construction management to the processes and dynamics of live project work. Students gain a critical understanding of the role that management plays in industry processes, and examine the technological processes and associated business functions widely seen in the UK and across international environments.
Promoting the role of women in construction

WIC Week™, or Women in Construction Week™, celebrates and promotes the role of women in the construction industry. NAWIC held the first WIC Week in 1998, and it has grown and expanded each year since. Many of our local chapters hold WIC Week events, which can include making presentations to high school classes, job site tours, luncheons and virtual events.
This year's theme, 'Many Paths, One Mission', celebrates the different journeys women have taken toward the same goal: strengthening and amplifying the success of women in the construction industry.
