Celebrating the beauty of the ocean
Mother Ocean Day is a special celebration that brings together people from around the world to celebrate the beauty and wonder of the ocean, and it is no surprise that inhabitants of Florida were the ones to come forward with this idea of having a Mother Ocean Day as Florida is famous for white sand beaches and clear, aquamarine waters.
Three-quarters of the Earth is covered by the ocean, and it is in the ocean that the first organic life started. Rain, oxygen, climate, food, salt, and further minerals are all examples of gifts we regularly receive from our oceans.
Life on Earth would not be possible without the blessing of the ocean. Earth is our home and that we want to live in harmony with nature. We are all responsible for protecting our planet.
Mother Ocean Day sees different annual themes
Every year, there is a different theme that is selected for Mother Ocean Day. Some of the different themes that there have been over the years include the likes of:

- Our Oceans, Our Future
- Healthy Oceans, Healthy Planet
- Our Oceans: greening our future
- Our Oceans, Our Responsibilities
Mother Ocean Day is relatively a new celebration, introduced for the first time in 2013. It is a concept thought up by the South Florida Kayak Fishing Club that has since sought the approval of the City of Miami to declare the moment as an official day.
The aim is to take a day to celebrate the beauty and wonder of the ocean, and it is no surprise that inhabitants of Florida were the ones to come forward with this idea, as Florida is famous for particularly gorgeous white sand beaches and clear, aquamarine waters.
