Madoka Watanabe is Operations Manager for DHL in Japan

Meet DHL Supply Chain Japan's Operations Manager for Consumer & Retail Sector, Madoka Watanabe. Since joining DHL Supply Chain as a graduate, Madoka has risen through the ranks with the help of supportive leaders and colleagues.

Importance of being supported by colleagues

Madoka started working with DHL Supply Chain as an Operation Staff graduate. Work was very challenging at the beginning, however Madoka's manager and senior members always supported her, and she gradually progressed through to a managerial position.

"DHL has employees from a wide range of ages, from new graduates to elder people. I love how they are all very positive about their careers," says Madoka. "I enjoy sharing different ideas with our team members about various customer project challenges and solutions."

Gaining knowledge from her team

The opportunities for personal growth with DHL are endless. Madoka was selected as Operations Manager for a new global fashion client, where she worked with and drew from the knowledge of so many talented people working as a team.

"I also helped to set up the operations for this project and seeing it go live gave me an enormous sense of pride," explains Madoka.

She enjoys how her team tackles challenges at work with creativity and determination, and enjoys hanging out with her colleagues. On the days when Madoka is not working, she loves going to hot springs with her friends to relax.
