Brands steeped in heritage

Gabrielle discusses her pride in working on brands that are steeped in heritage and entrepreneurship, and what this means for her marketing career.

"I actually joined Diageo from agency side first. I used to work in a media agency and I applied because I thought the role was just brilliant and the brands that you can work on at Diageo are second to none and steeped in history and so iconic," says Gabrielle.

Better representing society

"We are consciously investing to make and encourage the media landscape within Great Britain to be more representative of the society in which we live, which is hugely impactful. One example is with the Guinness team. We found out that, globally, only 4 per cent of women are represented within global sport and media," says Gabrielle. "So we worked with Wikipedia to write bios of the different female players that are included within the women's Six Nations Championship."

Gabrielle says she feels like she is making a really positive difference via a massive cross-functional effort.

"Having the opportunity to work on brands that are steeped in heritage built by people that had such bravery and spirit and entrepreneurship, it's not something that every brand marketer can say that they do," says Gabrielle.
