The Green Gown Awards recognise the exceptional sustainability initiatives being undertaken by universities and colleges. With sustainability moving up the agenda, the Awards have become established as the most prestigious recognition of best practice within the further and higher education sector.
The Outstanding Leadership Team of the Year category recognises pioneering and innovative cross institution approaches to deliver more sustainable institutions through whole-institution sustainability strategies and new organisational structures.

We as a team are regularly top scorers in People & Planet and the UI GreenMetric, we were awarded Gold in the Life Index and we fly both Green and Purple Flags proudly for campus and city sustainability. The 17 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) are at the heart of everything that we do and we can only succeed through leadership and teamwork," says NTU Professor Eunice Simmons.

The 17 SDGs influence university strategy and this is reflected in a wide variety of projects. The Sustainable Development Team and Green Academy work in partnership with other departments to embed sustainability into everyday life at NTU.
