Jennifer Aument, Chief Executive of AECOM's global Transportation business, discusses with top climate experts how investing in resilient infrastructure today can greatly contribute to the climate solutions of tomorrow.

Discussing infrastructure investment and climate change

AECOM infrastructure

The discussion, hosted by United for Infrastructure, addressed the topic Make it Resilient: Building and Updating Infrastructure for a Changing World.

It focused on the way that climate change creates major challenges for America (national security, natural disaster response and recovery, and increasing economic competitiveness) as well as individuals (making enough money for families, keeping our lights and heat on during storms, ensuring that high tides and rain don’t swamp streets and basements, protecting children from harmful chemicals).

Based on these challenges, the participants led a debate about how to connect much needed investments in infrastructure decarbonization and resilience to real improvements in American’s daily lives.

Education about the importance of infrastructure

United for Infrastructure is a non-profit that educates the American public and policymakers about the importance of infrastructure to the nation’s economy, workers, and communities. In partnership with the leaders at all levels of government, labor unions, the business community, associations, and think tanks, the organization has worked to ensure that our nation’s infrastructure meets the needs of every American, both now and for future generations.
