WSP Canada is lead by female President & CEO, Marie-Claude Dumas. The company has been awarded as a Best 50 Corporate Citizen by Corporate Knights Inc, a Toronto-based media and research company.

WSP ranked an impressive 24 out of 271 Canadian companies.

"This ranking is a testament to our responsibility in mitigating climate change and we look forward to continuing to innovate and develop sustainable solutions," said WSP.

The annual corporate citizenship recognition program is a respected benchmark representing the rising standard for corporate sustainability leadership in Canada.

Highlights of WSP’s performance in the ranking include:

  • their top quartile scores on “clean revenue” earned from their environmental and other consulting capabilities
  • their clean acquisitions
  • their strong Board of Directors’ gender diversity

Helping create a sustainable, prosperous and resilient society

“We are very pleased to be ranked among Corporate Knight’s Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada, and top two among our peers, as a recognition of our commitment and contribution to ESG and the UN Sustainable Development Goals,” said Alexandre L’Heureux, WSP’s Global President & CEO. “Moreover, the recent addition of Golder to WSP’s Earth and Environment practice positions us as the leading global environmental consulting firm, enhancing our ability to deliver on the promise of growing future clean revenues.”

Alongside the announcement of the rankings , Corporate Knights is encouraging leading Canadian businesses to formally commit to a low-carbon future by setting science-based targets. To date, 10 Canadian companies have made Business Ambition for 1.5°C commitments, and WSP is one of these organizations. In April 2021, WSP announced that it would Get Ready for Less, with ambitious new greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction goals and a net zero commitment, supported by science-based targets.

“In addition to our commitment to net zero, WSP’s Future Ready® approach challenges and inspires all our people to advise and design programs for the future as well as today,” said Andre-Martin Bouchard, WSP’s Global Director of Earth & Environment. “Bringing future-ready solutions to our clients and communities, as well as supporting them to achieve best-in-class ESG performance, helps to create a sustainable, prosperous and resilient society.”
