Schneider Electric Chief Marketing Officer Chris Leong is recognized as one of the most important and influential in-house communicators from around the world in the PRovoke Media Influence 100.
The list celebrates the most powerful chief communications and marketing officers.
PRovoke Media produces content across multiple platforms, delivering the most sophisticated reporting and analysis of public relations trends and issues, along with an extensive global footprint of events and awards.
Years of experience in marketing and business leadership roles
After joining Schneider Electric in 2012, Asia-Pacific marketing veteran Chris was named global CMO and ExCo member in 2015. It is a role that gives Chris a broader remit than most, including brand impact, marketing engagement, digital customer experience, communications and sales operations — but also reflects her years of experience, which have included senior marketing and business leadership roles.
At Schneider Electric, for example, Chris previously led a high growth area across the region, while at her previous posting at Nokia, she oversaw the company’s operations across China, Japan and Korea after earlier serving as global marketing SVP, complete with a $1bn budget.
A tribute to passionate marketers and communicators
Chris made the shift to client side after more than a decade with advertising agencies in Asia. As she has said in previous interviews, Schneider Electric is “the world’s biggest invisible brand”, helping Chris articulate the company’s ‘Life is On’ positioning, while also overseeing a global operation that aims to properly communicate the company’s sustainability credentials.
"Humbled and proud to be part of PRovoke Media Influence 100. This recognition is a tribute to the incredibly passionate marketers and communicators at Schneider Electric who strive for the very best in creating the most exciting brand engagement that drives business impact every day," said Chris in response to the recognition.
"Thank you to the most awesome team for making me the luckiest CMO in the world. You guys rock!"
