Eaton ensures women-owned businesses part of supplier base

 September 16, 2021

Eaton's focus on supporting women extends well beyond its workforce with the company actively seeking to ensure diversity among its supplier base.

Eaton strives to engage a diverse supply base reflecting the communities where they live, work and serve. Eaton actively seeks to provide business opportunities to businesses that include small, veteran-owned, disabled-owned, minority-owned, women-owned and historically underutilized business zone suppliers.

Fueling the economy and creating jobs

Small and diverse businesses fuel the economy by creating jobs and delivering innovative solutions. Eaton believes that encouraging these organizations to compete for its business benefits Eaton and its communities.

Advancing supplier diversity program

Eaton’s combined spending with minority, women, veteran-owned diverse and small businesses was greater than 32% of supplier spending in the U.S. in 2020 with a total of $702 million going to minority, women, veteran, LGBT+ and disabled-owned businesses.

In 2020 Eaton advanced its supplier diversity program, purchasing $1.9 billion in goods and services from small and diverse suppliers, and growing its business with women-owned businesses by approximately 7% and with veteran-owned businesses by nearly 5% over 2019.

"Eaton is committed to enhancing our award-winning supplier diversity strategy to create long-term and sustainable economic impact in the communities in which we live, work and serve'" says Rogerio Branco, Executive Vice President, Supply Chain Management at Eaton.
