EDGE certification reinforces EBRDs focus on gender equality

EDGE certification reinforces EBRD's focus on gender equality

 October 05, 2021

EBRD has officially moved up to the next level of the Economic Dividends for Gender Equality (EDGE) certification.

This recertification demonstrates the significant efforts the Bank has made to progress gender equality internally.

"Huge congratulations! Very proud of the EBRD for this achievement, and for practicing what we are preaching," commented Barbara Rambousek, EBRD Director for Gender and Economic Inclusion.

Measuring gender equality efforts within a company

EDGE is the leading global assessment methodology and business certification standard for gender and intersectional equity. It measures where organizations stand in terms of representation, pay equity, effectiveness of policies and practices to ensure equitable career flows as well as inclusiveness of their culture.

EDGE measured the EBRD on:

  • Representation
  • Pay equity
  • Effectiveness of policies and practices to ensure equitable career flows when it comes to pay, recruitment and promotion, training, flexible working and organizational culture.
  • Inclusiveness of the culture as reflected in employees’ experience in terms of career development opportunities

Further EDGE certified clients include companies like Deloitte, Unicef, Allianz, and Ikea.
